My last 2 trucks have been 4x4, but only because the dealers very rarely have much choice in 4x2 trucks in the trim levels I want. And in 13 years of owning a 5er I have never used 4x4 while towing. And that includes staying at some campgrounds where the sites were native soil/grass, and wet at times.
Being in Grand Prairie, TX you know you very rarely ever need 4x4 at home due to ice/snow. I have only used my 4x4 occasionally getting to/from our hunting cabin in the hill country when the pasture was muddy. And I think maybe once or twice for ice/snow in 15 years. The limited slip rear is generally all you need.
