My 98 RAM I added a 4 low axle disconnect that allowed the rear tires to be in low range, that was NICE!!!
That is one thing about my old F-250 It did not have the auto locking hubs only manual. If I needed low range all I needed to do was put the lever into the 4 low position,had low range without the axle bind.
