You will not find a lot of new extended cab trucks on dealer lots either. They just are no longer as popular as the crew/family cab.

I wanted the SC to tow my FW, but had to order one, to get just what I wanted. I like the length, looks, and maneuverability. Mine has the 6' 9" bed.

I believe you will find the simple extended cab is a thing of the past. To pass the side impact/crash test, they had to add a door pillar. Adding the door pillar basically makes it a crew cab.

Are Extended Cab Trucks An Endangered Species?

Ford and Chevy still make a "Club" or "Super" cab configuration. RAM no longer makes a quad/extended cab setup. They only have Regular, Crew and Mega for the HD trucks. I'm assuming you want to stick with an 8' bed? If you can go to a 6' bed then a crew cab will fit the same footprint as an extended cab pickup with 8' bed.
