Norcold Frig

my Norcold frig. is acting up it's a model N821. it's in a 2002 Carriage
Camao we are currently camping on the south shore of lake Erie and will be here until winter. The freezer compartment is fine about 20 deg. but the frig is only 45 or 50. I have thought about pulling it out and replacing it with a residential model but it's going to be hard to find one that will fit into the space without tearing out cabinets etc. I have finish carpenter skills ( retired ) but I really hate to tear the coach up I'M sure that I can purchase a replacement from a RV supply but they are big bucks. any suggestions ???

  • You are not that far from Shipshewana, Indnana. There Leon Hersberger owns National Refrigeration and he can fix your refrigerator. His website is Fix Your Fridge

You will be happy with it. We had ours fixed by him 4 years ago and it's still going strong. Call him. You will probably have to leave a message (he's Amish) but he will get back to you the same day.

  • 20*F in freezer is NOT fine...........S/B 5*F or lower

Cooling unit is most likely clogged..........dying........dead!

OR DOOR seals are no good allowing warm air int freezer section

What temp setting is fridge set to (5 or 9)??

When you push 'temp' button.....does it Flash for 10 seconds?
If it does 'thermistor' is bad.

No flashing when you push 'temp' button......
    Select 9 on temp setting
    Unplug thermistor at lamp assembly
Check temps in freezer/food section again after 12 hrs.

No improvement (freezer 5*F or less/food section below 40*F)
    Cooling unit bad!
