Now the hard part

The easy part was picking out the fifth wheel we wanted. Settled on the Jayco North Point 377rlbh. The hard part is the dealer. We are purchasing in Florida. We got a real good price from one dealer already. But can't find many reviews on their service department. Has anybody purchased from La Mesa in Orlando? Any service department reviews? I am waiting to hear back from them if they can even get this model. Thanks. BTW...the other dealer is Orlando RV. Any reviews? Reading these service department horror stories has scared me. Also, we plan on hiring someone to come do the PDI with us. Any suggestions in the Orlando area?

Ask any dealer, it does need to be Jayco, if they make "more money" with warranty.

When they get done laughing at you, they will tell you they can make more money with a lemonade stand in the parking lot.

There is NO money (profit) in warranty work, in the RV industry, or many others.

    You are spot on.

  • I am impressed with the customer service of Tampa RV. I would guess Orlando RV would be the same.
  • Thanks for the quick responses. I talked to an independant company that doe's warranty work. They said that they can't do warranty work for Jayco in the first year. Jayco requires you to go back to the dealer. It's just a way for the dealer to make more money. But a majority of what will go wrong is the equipment inside the RV. Jayco really just builds the box. They can do the warranty work on everything else. This is important because we may not have a truck the first year. They will come out and do the work.
  • Though I live in the Orlando area, I bought my Fuzion Impact in Tampa from Tampa RV, It is the same company as Orlando RV. An independent RV tech recommended their service department over two competitors in the immediate area. I have not had to use their service department yet; but they did an excellent prep job.
