Those of us that are climbing into these vehicles know what we are climbing into. The risks we know and understand. We are not soccer moms driving Ford Explorers with old under inflated tires on the freeway at 80mph while doing our makeup only to lookup and swerve to avoid rear ending someone.
I understand that since I took off my rear sway bar I have to be careful on high speed turns. I understand that my SxS is very unstable at 70mph. I understand that since I turbocharged it I have to be careful accelerating and not losing control.
The reason some are bypassing the seat belt cut out is so they can install and use better harness systems.
Compared to soccer moms in their SUVs I'm pretty sure the operators of SxSs have a better understanding of the mechanics and limitations of the vehicles they are driving.
I'm pretty sure the manufacturers are fighting this legislation.
