Finding gas during a power outage is problematic. We had to drive around once over 2 hours just to find a gas station with power so we could get gas for the portable generator. It is a fuel we did not carry because we have a diesel truck. With the Onan 5500 LP, we have a ready fuel source. It is as quiet as the inverter type portables and not smelly at all. It was an expensive install but well worth it to us. Combined with our inverter and 4 batteries, we can run what we want with the exception of a/c, and use the generator to recharge the batteries. If we need a/c, we would be staying at a campground with electric.
And how do you get LPG in a power outage? At least with gas you could hand-pump it. Just sayin'... :h
