Are the pumps failing due to clogged fuel filters or collapsed lines? I'm seeing much more of this with the ethanol mixed fuels. Recently I replaced fuel lines on two different motors: One line hardened solid and became brittle while the other one started separating in layers at the nylon weave.
Ethanol fuels absorb moisture, possibly corroding metal parts, who knows what the alcohol does to rubber parts. The biggest thing I have seen, the separation of the components in the fuel blend, lots of debris in the tank and carb bowl. If EPA gets their way it will get worse with 15% ethanol which is not approved for many engines.
Minor problem Bob were gonna go forth anyway its the green thing to do.:R
I know, but it sucks either way.
I know You, Big Buford, Crazy Cooter and I and possibly a few others who have been around M D/H D trucks for any time remember when the first low sulfur diesel was jammed down our throats, many injector pump, fuel injectors and rubber hoses suffered.
My Brother drove over the road and was told by the company, "DO NOT FILL UP IN KALI".
Here we go again with E15
