opinion on 5th wheel brands

Narrowed my search for a new 5th wheel down. Columbus 320rs or Montana High Country 343rl,318re or 305rl. Been going to different dealerships and looking at different kinds. Getting quotes on prices with my trade in. Also been getting my balance down quite a bit before I trade. Don't plan on trading until late Oct. early Nov.I live in NC but am working in Michigan close to Elkhart and Goshen Indiana. I got a good quote from a dealer in Grand Rapids on a Columbus 320rs. Just curious on what peoples thoughts were on Columbus and Montana High Country. Thanks
  • I own Columbus320rs love it. We have been fulltiming for about 2 years
and would not buy any other brand. We bought our from Cheyenne RV IN Iowa and they have been nothing but awesome. They will give you the best price with no pushy salesmen. They have one price and only one price on what they have in stock check them out and good luck.

If interested in Columbus you should contact Wana RV in Shipshewana, IN (very close to the area where you’re working) for an exact price. They can order exactly what you want with no delivery time wait, because they go pick up themselves. We’re so happy with our dealing experience at Wana, it’s unlikely we’ll ever go any where else. Also, any Forest River product may have a second year warranty purchased for $145. Beyond that Forest River is very good at after warranty repairs. They just had a rally at Goshen where anyone could get anything fixed by factory techs, free.
  • Like said above (Chevy of Ford), it's Keystone or Forest River in this case. Been to many RV shows over the years and they all look pretty much the same with floorplans that don't differ all that much between manufacturers.

Since there are no perfect trailers, pick the floorplan and best deal you can negotiate from a dealer with a reputation for excellent customer service after the sale. You will hear both positive and negative about both brands and manufacturers and more than likely they will bear some truth, either choice will require service down the road and some dealers just don't come through as they should.
  • Kinda' like some prefer a Ford and some prefer a chevy.
I've always picked the floorplan I liked at a dealer near me that made a deal I could live with. Your call there.
