Opinions: FW to gooseneck adapters?

Many people use them, prefer them to a standard 5th hitch, and have no problems. But as mentioned, make sure it will not void your warranty if you have a new trailer. No doubt the stresses on the frame are different.

Lippert apparently does approve using the Goosebox adapter. But it has an air bag and shock absorber built in.
