Hate to rain on the parade but I tried numerous ways to attempt to make my trailer in the signature below work with my 2500HD Duramax. Couldn't do it, tossed around ideas like airbags, timbrens, additional leaf springs, etc. Payload killed me with the 3/4 ton even though it was rated high enough for "towing". Don't remember exactly what the payload was but with our 5vr, it couldn't be done. I am 40 feet long but classified as a 36 footer and have a loaded pin weight around 3000lbs. If you go true 40 foot 5vr you will be way to heavy for your 2500. Cummins will pull it but your axles, springs, etc. will not be able to "carry" it. Sorry but you need the near 4000lb payload of a SRW 3500 or a dually.
