Oregon ATV Safety Card

Is this ATV safety card just for Oregon residents? We stopped in Florence on our way back from AZ a couple of months ago and rode the dunes for 2 days in our side by side ATV.
We have a street legal WA license plate on it and WA ORV stickers on it also. No one stopped and asked us for anything. Is that because we are legal in WA and have reciprocal privileges in other states?

They have and do ask for them. The first few year they were pretty cool about it and if you're from out of State they might still be. They gave people the option of no ticket, but no more riding until they hoped on the Internet and took the course.

We were pulled over a couple times, one time they wanted to see the cards, the other just asked if we had them.

I've talked to other friends that were down there around Spring Break and they said they were more actively checking. If you have attitude you're more likely to get a ticket.

Just get it done and then you don't have to worry.

I was thinking it was an annual thing but just looked at my old card from 2012 and don't see an expiration so must still be good. My son's card says it expired 6mo after we took the test back in 2012. ATV Oregon site says they have to take a hands on training course after 6mo if under 16. Yeah that's not going to happen so I guess we take our chances.

It's rather like a fishing license....I've had one since I was 16......never been asked for it. Friend was same way until this year......was asked, didn't have it, is now down $110.00. :) :)
