Outdoor Televisions

This is a google view of what someone did with their swing out 22-inch size TV... Looks pretty simple to do...



We have found large outside TV always draw a crowd. They always have to be watched closy (no pun intended) to make sure they don't grow legs and wander off... Someone is eventually going to complain about camping next door to the large outside TV setup...

For us the 22-inch size is perfect. We get to sit in our big easy camp chairs and can watch TV without bothering anyone... When the weather gets bad the smaller TV is easier to stow.. Also easier to stow when you want to leave the trailer area or get ready for bed around the 10PM time...

The only issue we have had is I bump it loading lawn chairs and scratch it. I just ordered an outdoor TV cover that I'll pull over it before I start loading stuff to go home.

Wife made a padded cover...works great.

With that we don't put it up in the basement until we are setup leaving more room.

Yes, the basements are so tall anymore, nothing seems to bother the TV flipped up. The only issue we have had is I bump it loading lawn chairs and scratch it. I just ordered an outdoor TV cover that I'll pull over it before I start loading stuff to go home.

The bracket has a gas strut that makes it as easy as a nudge to have it retract up if you need to grab anything in the basement. I flip it up even when it is on, then pull it back down after I finish in the basement.

We set up a spare 21" in our basement...works great.

I didn't want to give up a lot of room in my basements but still wanted a television available outside. Had a newer 20" LCD from when we sold the house. Used a swing arm mount and mounted it in far enough so that when we swing the TV out for viewing it is still partially inside the basement. On our unit all the cable/sat/electrical connections were already in the basement area.

The install took about 15 minutes. When we travel the 20" LCD simply folds back against the wall.

Even though it is not a huge screen, we are usually sitting under the awning within 6 feet or so from the basement door anyway, so it really is big enough for us.

Montana's come with a mount, antenna and DC power receptical for the bedroom Jensen TV to be put in the basement. With either the awning out or something to hold the basement door open, it's shaded.

We use a 32" Vizio LED Razor just inside my compartment door...good placement , under the awning , rain or shine ,I'm outside!

Historically Plasma's have been a bad choice in well lit areas. They are also more susceptible to damage from movement.
