outside stair carpet
I see a lot of outside steps covered with carpet. is it really doing anything? is CW best place to buy it, is it just outdoor carpet.

I made my own. Got the indoor-outdoor carpet from Lowe's, cut mine to size, wrapped on top and bottom of each step, and used a bit of wire to catch the ends under the step to tie the two ends together. No grommets at all. They never come off, have not torn or ripped, or shredded. Easy, cheap (especially since I had the carpet left over from scrap from another project), and works well.
No need for the springs or the grommets.
And yes! They do keep a lot of dirt from entering the camper!
(I think right now, I have only 1 step of 3 with the carpet cover on my current camper. This seems to work quite well. When we got our last camper 3 years ago, this was all the scrap I had left). But, it's been just fine!
