outside stair carpet
I see a lot of outside steps covered with carpet. is it really doing anything? is CW best place to buy it, is it just outdoor carpet.

Yes, you could. But then you would have to cut it to size, buy the grommets, and the springs. The ones we have also have a rubber backer on them. They have held up to a year and a half of many times a day use, with barely any wear.
Sometimes, it's better to just bite the bullett and purchase something outright, instead of going through the hassle to save a couple bucks. JMO
