outside stair carpet
I see a lot of outside steps covered with carpet. is it really doing anything? is CW best place to buy it, is it just outdoor carpet.

I have the same problem with a dog that doesn't like the metal stairs. Our stairs don't have holes in them, so I'm not worried about snagging a claw, but I am worried about him getting a leg caught in the stair riser gap.
So I've been thinking of taking a single strip of outdoor carpet, the width of the stairs, and running it down the stairs and risers. Leaving enough loop in the riser area so that the steps can still fold up. I think I would just contact cement it in place, and forget all the fooling with springs or ties.
Haven't tried it yet, but have not bought the off-the-shelf items either.
