Owners manual

I have a 2000 Cardinal 27RK that I purchased used 3 years ago. It didn't have the owners manual for it and I am trying to find one. I contacted Forest River directly and they do not keep the manuals for a 5th wheel my age. Does anyone out there either have a manual that they would be willing to copy for me, or know where I could track one down? There are some features of the rig I have not been able to figure out on my own. Thanks for any help.

Most "owners" manuals aren't worth the paper they are printed on. There is usually nothing on how your rig was wired, plumbed, anything other then the basic stuff.

If you need info on your appliances, most makers have PDFs on their web-sites.

Amen to that, brother. I can somewhat understand that the camper manufacturers rely on their component suppliers to furnish their own manuals for each appliance etc. What I don't understand is why the camper manufacturers don't furnish basic information such as LOCATION of various components such as water pumps, breaker panels, inverters, transfer switches etc for these rigs. Sometimes it takes more time to FIND a component than it does to fix it. On my Jayco, the transfer switch is located under the bed, with a wooden "case" built around it. Having to trace water lines and electrical wires and gas lines to find something in your camper is ridiculous, especially if you are on the road and need to fix something. The generic owners manuals are pretty useless as far as maintenance goes.
  • For good information you might try here; http://www.cardinalrvclub.org/

However for the most part each piece of equipment in campers the manual is put out by the mfg of that equipment.

    Ditto the above.

*If* you really think it's a "must have" - Google for a Cardinal owners group (or club) - maybe on Yahoo Groups.

Search (here) on "Cardinal" - try PM-ing some of the posters that are discussing something about the Cardinal(s) they own.

BTW - Don't forget the archives. (449 pages with "Cardinal").
You have to look for the *owners* posting about their rigs.

    Good luck.
