Paint & Clear front cap

I am considering painting and clear coating front cap. Has anyone out in the forum done this? I have a 2011 Carriage Cameo F36FWS. I don't know if I should just clear coat over existing high gloss fiberglass or paint and clear. Would anyone know what the cost may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

    DIY or have a body shop do it?
    DIY, probably $350. For paint and supplies.
    Body shop, maybe $2500. To 3000. To do a good job can be very labor intensive.
