Painting your hitch ?

I want to paint my hitch this winter while the trailer is away. I was just wondering whats paint you guys have used and have had success with for bonding and shine etc ?

Thanks

  • I use a black farm implement pain on my hitches & on my flat trailers...... usually last a couple of years plus
  • Buy a good quality paint like Rustoleum. Do a thorough job of prepping. That's half the paint job. Also use a matching primer in the same brand. If properly done it will outlast the factory paint.

    B.O.
  • Have u guys used that on the 5er bumpers as well ? I noticed mine has a few bubble rust spots I want to clean up
  • Same here, sometimes I will use a primer them a gloss, do it every season.
May have to sand a little for the rock paint dings.
  • I usually give mine a shot of Rustoleum gloss (spray)...Walmart has it. it is fairly cheap, goes on over almost anything, holds up an entire season and looks good too...i also hit the hitch on the truck and anything else that i want black on the truck or camper.
