Peragon Tonneau Cover

I am considering a Paragon tonneau cover. If anyone has one could you let me know if you are satisfied with it? Also, if you have ever experienced hail, how did it hold up? And lastly, does freezing rain and ice have any effect on the lock since the key slot faces upward. I had a BAK flip aluminum roll up but the canister is too heavy to remove. The Paragon seems very convenient to remove when need be.
  • Thank you again everyone for your responses, your help is appreciated.
  • Had one on my previous truck. Worked fine, plenty of room behind the hitch for storing the leafs. I was able to close with the hitch installed. In my instance there was enough room behind hitch where pulling the strap allowed the panels to go over the hitch. Don't remember that hitch height so can not tell if it would work for you. I believe the plate on the hitch was 17" above the bed. You have to climb inside the truck to attach the strap for keeping it open. Was towing a short distance from home and did no attached the strap. The wind blew the strap between the bed and cab. It twisted around the drive shaft and sounded like a cannon when the strap broke. Eventually got to where I never closed it.

It was not water tight but did a pretty good job of keeping most of it out. Installation correctly is important.
  • Got one on my F-250 and it works great. You have to follow instructions be sure it is in line. Works perfectly. Never had any experience in the hail with it. Sorry
  • Had one two years ago, returned it, was difficult to roll, cost me shipping to return...but worth returning.
  • Thanks for your responses, but I really need the opinion of anyone that actually owns a Paragon tonneau cover. Calicajun, thank you for your response and I agree with you on both points. Capehank ,I want to thank you also. I have a eight foot bed so there is enough room for the Paragon to fold up in front of my hitch.
  • I would be concerned about the hitch under the cover. When the cover slides back, is there room enough behind the hitch for the sections to fold? Would it hit the cover? I have: https://www.realtruck.com/truxport-tonneau-cover/

The hitch handle is secured so it does not move. When the tailgate is up and locked, all is secured. It is water tight.
  • Looks interesting, like the way it folds up without taking up much bed space and doesn't block the rear window.
  • Never heard of it..But I do have a Access roll up cover. My second one and they are the best in my opinion. No problems ever 20 below zero to 100 degrees. 99% water tight. I really like it..
