Picked up my 2016 Carbon 33

Well drove to RvWholesalers to pick up my Carbon 33. Not one thing wrong with it at all after 2 hours looking it over with a checklist. I was a bit upset to wait an hour to start my appointment, but all said and done I feel like a heck of a deal and doing our first night in it. Some learning unhooking the rig and getting things set up but amazed 0 problems with anything. I read all the stories so was worried, but fridge is cold, water is hot, made some food in oven....all good.
  • When we had our Raptor we could run 3 space heaters throughout the RV each of them set on 750 watt (low) would keep it nice and toasty. Then I'd set the furnace to a lower setting to augment the others if it got too cold and they couldn't keep up. This worked well for times we had ample power. You can burn through a lot of propane at 70 so finding a temp that keeps it warm enough and doesn't cause constant on/off is up to you.
  • We had a heavy rain two nights back so I checked it good after work yesterday, no issues that I could find inside.

It got down to 37 outside the first night we camped and furnace was off and on all night, kept 70 pretty good with inside garage open where kids sleeping. That was one of my bigger worries actually was if the furnace would keep up without running all the time.

Great thing was we only got one TV in the living room, but kids can lay in both beds in the garage and see the TV, and speakers in garage so it really worked out better than expected.

The reclining couch is about 10 times more comfortable than most of the furntiure in other models we looked at. Its real furniture in my opinion, very impressed. It also came with two tables...one for living room and one for the back room which was nice as I thought it would only have one table.

When I ordered it I didnt add the power tongue jack...but when I picked it up there it was....glad they had that, not sure if that was a mandatory option for 16.
  • Congrats, but don't get to excited just yet. Was in the same boat but you have to get out and use it a few times before you start finding things.

Be sure to check ALL windows for leaks after the next heavy rain.
  • trying to put a pic on if i could figure out how.

  • Well drove it home about 400 miles with my F250 diesel. Never pulled a TT before, must say for 95% of the trip it pulled like it wasnt there...i find myself forgetting. Think its just over 8k empty, put a 14k equalizer with 2.5" shank as I believe gvwr is around 12 or 13k (i checked a while ago and it required it). Love that truck.

Found two issues so far...trailer disconnect message pops up on computer and then comes right back on and says connected a minute or two later, so guessing a short in the wiring somewhere? Checked the connection it was tight, lights worked as I checked a few times and brakes were working. Other issue was one cabinet door that doesnt stay latched.

Honestly really impressed with interior finish despite one cabinet. Everything worked great and got it home safely. RV Wholesalers price was over 5k cheaper than local dealer even when I showed them the price.

The co owner introduced himself while there, seemed a nice guy. It was a busy day for them, being a newb i would have preferred a more personal experience that buying local might provide but for that much I can learn.
  • That's an awesome TT TH, been eyeballing the Carbon 33 ever since it was introduced. With three slides, it was about time somebody finally added a slideout bedroom wardrobe to a TT TH floorplan. Hope you have many great trips in your Carbon TH!!!
