Poll: do you use the comfort station?

Please no flaming. I'm honestly curious whether you use the campground comfort station, your rig's bathroom or both. If you use the comfort station, why?

We have used the campground's showers only once in ten years, due to four people having to get ready for dinner reservations in a short period of time.
  • We use the comfort station for an evening shower if, and only if, we don't have water hookup at our site. Since we camp at a lot of state parks, national parks, we use them often.

Our trailer has a 40 gal water tank, and with kids, it won't last with us taking showers.

However, we love using our rig to its fullest when we have full hookups.
  • I camp at State Parks and generally only have electricity but not water. To save water I use there showers and there toilets during the daytime.

Never use the shower now that the 5er has one, the toilet only if I am walking around and away from the rig, and as the last stop before hitting the road.
  • I bring my own "comfort station" with me. I have used the campground facilities, but only if I'm close and the camper is far.
  • For the bathroom, it depends. If I'm out and about even in our campsite we will use the campgrounds bathrooms occasionally. As far as the shower, I never use the campgrounds. Two reasons for an Rv for me is a good comfy bed and my own shower.
  • My wife says, "I'm not using the bath houses any more. The camper has a shower and a toilet and I'm using it!" So we do.

We quit using the bath house when she was taking a shower at the bath house and some other woman brought their 10 year old kid (boy) with her into the bath house. While she was taking a shower, the kid was terrorizing the other women showering by pulling back the curtains. My wife went balistic and that was THE last time either of us used the campground facilities! That was some 12 or 15 years ago!
  • i think some just feel they are getting their moneys worth with bathrooms versus nonbathrooms
