Popped off Cabinet door when pushing slide out????

Cabinet door was open when I put the slides out. (One day I'll learn to look everywhere). What kind of material should I buy to strengthen the screw hole so I can screw my cabinet door back in to small screw holes. I'm thinking there is some kind of material or something to make the torn screw holes small again so the re-attached cabinet door stays in place

Sounds like a carpenter doing the repair. :B
  • Tooth picks or matches and a little wood glue have always worked for me.
  • drill out to a little bigger hole and get a dowel rod that fits the hole you drilled and glue it in and cut off any sticking out then replace door the dowel rod is stronger than toothpicks or match sticks and will hole the screw much better
  • Any/all of the above will work just fine. I like to use a little Elmer's glue as Grumpy and Grandma suggested
  • I use pieces of nylon tiewray then run the screws back in fast with a drill. It works great. Chris
  • I've always used wooden matches. Just put one in the hole and cut the excess length off. Replace the screws. I've never used any kind of glue or epoxy.
  • You can buy some epoxy putty, fill the hole with it and then the next day re-drill it and replace the screw.
