Less expensive RV surge protectors does NOT mean it will not work.
I bought the popular brand $100 dollar one when I started out and it worked exactly the same as others in the CG that had more expensive ones.IMHO, JMHO "I"
really don't need to see on a gauge what all the wattage/volts are. When a spike etc big enough to damage my RV happens watching it on a gauge is not what is going to protect the RV. Just saying. I think some just have more bells and whistles that really are not needed if you are on a budget.
....In my opinion
you are mis-advising the OP to rely on that piece of junk pictured.

First of all: I NEVER posted a picture of anything other than a LOCK BOX for a protector.
Posts are offered opinions of what they think about a product. It's not mis-advising. That would 'assume' that only one person is right and everyone else is wrong. :W
The OP's 'ask' for an 'opinion' on a product and forum members offer them. It's up to the OP to make their decision on opinions offered. AND that there are many options to choose from.
my complaint is with your statement "I bought the popular brand $100 dollar one when I started out and it worked exactly the same as others in the CG that had more expensive ones." which is a mis statement and can be misleading to anyone thinking it is equivalent. You can have the opinion that the cheap one is all a person needs, etc. but you cannot claim that it works exactly like a true multi-function surge protector. that is false
