An Andersen Ultimate will cure the dropped 5er issues instantly.
Are you claiming a trailer hitch has never come off the ball. A ball connection is not 100 percent foolproof:S
Explain how a 5th hitch could come off the Andersen. I've never ever heard of one coming loose. No different than a goose neck ball. Just in a different location.
Apples to apples if you forget to latch any hitch. At least with the Andersen if you forget to latch it then initially the 5er won't fall on the bed.
Most drops with conventional hitches are due to operator error.
Bumper pull trailers manage to break free from the ball on rare occasion. Again mostly do to human error. No reason to assume the Andersen hitch is immune to human error. The Andersen is a very innovative design that has received decent reviews from those that own them, nevertheless I don't see it as a cure to drops.
The fact that it may not fall on the bed initially is of no benefit if it will fall on the bed eventually.
If I was going to have a drop I think initially is better than later.Let it drop in the driveway vs. at some point going down the road
