True story. I was sitting in my truck eating lunch in a mostly empty, large store parking lot on a very windy day. I was listening to the radio so it was only in the last few seconds ... I heard something coming toward me. I looked out and a shopping cart had gotten caught in the wind and was barreling toward my truck. Before I could even open the door to stop it ... BAM! It hit me square in the front fender making a nice dent.
Collision or comp? Here was the explanation I was given (Farmers Ins). Even though it was wind-propelled, the fact that the cart was on wheels and rolled into me - COLLISION. Had the cart become airborne as it hit me - COMP.
Regarding drops, I have a Superglide hitch. You can actually see the jaws wrap around the kingpin when properly hitched. Even so, I am pretty religious about doing a pull test before taking off.
I like your "pulltest"
I myself, do a jerk test, and violent too.
Inch forward slam the breaks, backup and do the same, couple times.
If that critter coming loose it will dam sure do it then.
