So back when the trailer was being built a person failed to push the wood studs inside the hollow aluminum studs. Then panels were screwed to these studs and there was nothing to screw to and the screws stripped. Surely this should have made the person stop and think something isn't right as these things happened. Then another person, presumably, made some bad welds that broke right away. These mistakes were made early in the build process and very difficult to get to after completion. Like a house with a bad foundation.
This company needs to focus on training their employees starting with the simple concept of how a screw works. The RV production business is far to complex for some people, myself included, to figure out on their own immediately. You paid for professionals to build this trailer every step of the way right down to the final RV wash.
I don't know where you are in proximity to your trailer and Keystone, but to me this is too big of an investment to have these problems. I think you should request an in person meeting with the leader of this organization--no phone calls or email at this point. Explain the problem starting from day 1. If you do, no one in their right mind would be able to look at you and say this has been handled correctly. You would be helping them more than they could realize.
I am in Georgia and the camper is in Indiana. That is a problem in itself as they wouldn't even allow me to bring it there myself or go to pick it up!! Stupid I know! This company is good at not handling things with its customers as they feel the dealer is there customer and you are the dealer's. That's why I'm in my EIGHTH MONTH in dealing with these issues. Before the frame break, the AC units were infuriating!! I had another Montana, same model, same year, sitting beside mine in Wisconsin last summer and the difference was night and day. His unit would cool and you could feel air movement and mine you could only get to drop below ambient temp about 8*..Every trip made me hate them more and more as they kept saying it was DOmetic and Dometic says it's Montana. The unit is scheduled for their "hot bay" to find out the problem while it is up there, but at this point, I'm not holding my breath. The only people you can talk to at Montana are the sales reps. They are quite proud of sending out 730 Montanas this month alone, but there reputation is starting to take a hit. Not just form me, but others going through similar issues. I'm quite the realist and know that this could happen to any RV out there, but the handling of customers has been atrocious!
