Our 5th has the 25' 50amp. I'm wanting to add power options for most camping situations. As a newbie to this, what do most carry? What length power cord is recommended? Do you carry a separate 30amp? What adapters do you carry? I like to keep things simple but want to be better prepared for some unknowns. Other suggestions and what more do I need to learn?

I carry a 50 to 30 adapter, and a 30 to 15 adapter. I also have a 50 to 30 that plugs into the side of the trailer, and a 30 amp extension cord. If I am at a campground that only has 30 amp service, I use the 50 to 30 that plugs into the side of the trailer, and the 30 amp cord. The 30 cord is much easier to handle the the 50 cord.Mark

Basically summer it could be either, winter only the 30A. The 30A I have has a plug so it goes directly into the side of the RV just like the 50A. I also have an adapter that that connects to the RV and makes a 90 deg turn so the 30 or 50 is not sticking straight out. That's all I carry.

Well we replaced our 25' OEM anaconda 50 amp power cord with a 40' SO 50 amp power cable. The 40' of SO 4/6 cable is so soft that I store it all in a 3 gallon bucket with a 30 amp dog bone adapter, and the 30 to 20 amp adapter.The OLD cable is in the tub 25' the new cable is in the bucket 40'!!

I carry the 50 amp that came with the trailer and a 30 amp adapter. I find that most of the sites we go to have the electric post in a proper location to be reached with a standard cord. Just make sure you have enough water hose and stinky slinky. Those seem like it is 50-50 as to whether they are properly located.Then again what is properly located for one trailer might not be for the next.

I have the standard heavy 50 amp power cord, and a 50 to 30 adapter. And also a 30 to 20 amp adapter. But after staying in a number of parks that had only 30 amp service, I bought a 25' 30 amp cord with a 50 amp connector at the RV end. It is so much lighter and easier to handle (especially in cold weather) than the 50 amp cord that it is my preferred cord if we will not be needing A/C.
