Went in 2012. Can be a long distance between fuel stops. Also all the prices in Canada are extremely high, fuel $1.00 a gallon cheaper when you hit the Alaska border. I would not cross to Canada until as far west as possible. Just make sure vehicle and fiver are in good shape and do not plan on getting in a hurry. We left May 15 and made the trip without reservations anywhere except Denali and never had a problem. Would recommend the city park in Seward. Was backed up to the bay with water and 50 amp for $25.00 per night, sight were great.
