I did this last winter in Carlsbad NM. Was a hard winter for that area. Many nights in the teens and 20's with 3 feet of snow at one point. This is what I did:
*Used installed electric fireplace and electric heaters for main heat and propane for supplemental heat. (electricity was include in rent)
*Used a water hose with a built in heat trace.
*Bought a 100 LB (not gallon) propane HD for $120 and an extension hose to tee it into my two installed tanks. I did this because there was only one propane seller in town and the line was sometimes 8 deep. This tank and my two installed tanks lasted me all winter.
*Bought an irrigation box and put it over the water spigot and filled it with insulation.
*IMPORTANT* Dump tanks only when full or when leaving RV for a few days.
*Used a fan to circulate the electric heat.
*Bought and installed holding tank heaters bur never installed them. My RV has an enclosed underbelly.
I never had any freeze up problems. Good luck and have fun.
