Problem with toilet spraying water on wall when flushing

I once had a female cat that use to do that with her litter box. Never had an "electric flush" potty before, so I won't be much help. Is there an adjustment screw to regulate the pressure or amount of water is sprays? Beyond that, I'm clueless!
