Problem with toilet spraying water on wall when flushing

I looked and that forum showed up right away, The problem sounds like either a hose fitting or a problem with the edge where the water goes.
That nothing happens when you try to spray manually does make it seem strange, but the way you worded it made the jab a little too tempting.
