Pros / Cons of residential appliances? (fridge mainly)

You hit on the biggest negative - electricity. For many this is not an issue as they never boondock. Although that's easily overcome with a generator. The biggest plus is that the residentials are much more reliable then the gas/electric RV refrigerators. Also the residentials are cheaper to replace than the RV style.
If and when our RV refrig. goes to the happy hunting ground, I'll be replacing it with a residential.
