But what about your neighbors in that USFS/BLM/TVA/COE/USF&W campground with you running your generator to power your refrigerator, microwave, stereo, outside TV and AC?
I only run the generator when the DW wants to use the microwave in the evening and to recharge my multiple batteries at the same time. Everything else is run off an nverter and if I'm watching TV outside I use headphones for those with delicate ears. Having recently converted to residential it is probably one of the best things I have ever done to my motorhome and we Boondock more than half of the time. Two batteries will power it (Whirlpool 21 cuft) for over 30 hours before needing to recharge them... 96 watts when running less than half of the time.
A residential refrigerator will keep food cold for more than 10 hours while traveling if you do not have an inverter to power it. A 500W PSW inverter is large enough to power a Energy Star residential refrigerator as they are that efficient.
Doubting residential being appropriate for Boondocking only cost me several thousand dollars before I wised up and replaced my NoCold 1200.
