I never do a pull test except by accident, like when I forget to remove the chocks. :)
If the handle on my B&W flips forward and goes clunk, I'm hooked and not coming loose until I pull the handle. End of story.
As far as the "Butch's Services" thingy, it's just one more thing to remember to do. If I forget to latch my pin, the chances of me remembering that is pretty slim too. :)
