Pulled The Trigger

It might not sound like much but we found a truck and we'll sign all the papers tomorrow.
My Ford dealer found a 2008 F350 6.4L diesel long bed crew cab in FL and it looks really nice. We'll have it tomorrow afternoon and it's a first step in our goal of being out there with a 5er full-timing.
I know it might seem like not much but it's a step. Now we need to begin getting the $$s together, selling some real estate in hopes of getting a Columbus 325RL, the one we really love.
Might be a couple years and we're hoping for a slightly used but super clean one but I still hope to be meeting some of you on the road one day.
I'm guessing everyone had to begin somewhere, and this is our first step.
Stick with me.. I'll get there one day soon and we're pretty nice people.. at least I am but my wife is an amazing trauma nurse capable of saving your life in any number of situations. A good lady to know!! :)

If it is a 6.4L Ford that you want, good luck. But if it is a 3500 Diesel, there are other choices out there that might be better. The 6.4L deserves some critical research. Reliability is not that perfect. In addition to poor fuel mileage.

But if that is the model you want, then good for you. And enjoy.

My thoughts exactly. I am not trying to bash Ford but that 6.4 PSD is a problem child x2 compared to their 6.0. I'll give you one link from a Ford master technician. Please don't shoot the messenger here. OBTW our son had a 2008 and lets just say he wasn't to happy.

I wish you luck and happy trails.
  • What does buying a new truck have to do with shooting a firearm?
  • I don't know a single thing about the tv you are considering but want to wish you Good Luck and enjoy and having a nurse for dw has its merits.
  • Don't want to scare you but the OP is correct. Go to Ford and have them do an "Oasis Report". That will give you an idea of service history done by Ford and a good idea of a reliability pattern.

  • LOL... congrats!! Considering my age and health issues, I'll have to stay in close touch with you (particularly her) when I'm at Petersburg C.O.E. in Appling over the next couple of years.:B
