Might be a Dodge concern, I've never had one. There was a concern for the light duty gas Chev 3sp OD transmissions I recall on fleet notices, but that was in the early 90s.
Not saying it isn't true about the issue, but sometimes "experienced RVers" means they can't learn anything new after they get set in their ways.
