Purchasing our first 5er this week. Have a 2010 Ram 4x4 crew cab CTD SRW SB and am getting a 2014 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5bhs.
Am considering the two hitches listed in the title? Which would be the best choice?
Why would you consider the two hitches, long bed I would go with B&W , you having a short bed I would go with the automatic slider, It is a no brainer . Having just purchased a new Ram short bed,I am very skeptical about the clearance, coming from a short bed ford that has a six inch longer bed then what you and I have. I have the manual reese slider, and most likely will sell it, and get the Superglide, I will check clearance first when I get things setup. If I was starting from scratch there would be no question,I would go with Superglide, No brainer .
The Ford has a 7' box? Didst I've heard of that. My Ram has the 6.5' box.
My 99 ford superduty shortbed measures from inside the bed to the end with the tailgate open right at 6'-10" this new ram measuring the same way is 6'-4" 6 inches different the way I am measuring . Hopefully with axle placement or whatever I will come out with about the same clearance to the back of the cab from the pin.
