Lot's of good information on the link but EPDM by nature when manufactured is not black. It is a white slightly opaque color. Carbon black is added to many rubber products as a reinforcing filler and UV absorbent.
Our church has about 14,000 square feet roof made by Duralast in the link posted and was touted to reduce our utility bills considerably but only reduced it slightly. It was custom made based upon measured dimensions and installed over 1/2" foam sheeting. Much of the sheeting was welded at the factory and that is an advantage as it is better controlled. All seams at the on site installation was hot air welded. I believe that at this point we have a very good roof and better than TPO or EPDM but if I was replacing the roof on my camper I would not necessarily eliminate EPDM. I would not use a TPO roof.
