Also, FR changed the way they address dealer repaired warranty issues as well and not to anyone's advantage except FR. IOW, the dealers get screwed for the factory's lack of quality control.
Not on that subject but I read an article about Warren Buffet and the State of Texas. Seems as though Warren (Berkshire Hathaway) bought around 30 new car dealerships in Texas recently and Texas has a State law that forbids anyone owning new car dealerships if that person or entity also manufactures new vehicles (even RV's) so it's all up in the air if Buffet / BH can even sell new cars in Texas. Warren should have done due diligence before he bought those dealerships.
I found that interesting.
How did they change it? I did feel like the dealer wanted me out of there and didn't care if I came back for issues. It left me wondering if the dealer get a better deal on warranty work after the purchase rather than fixing pre delivery.
And Buffet is smarter than that, I'm sure they did their diligence and they are expecting to win and use that to their advantage later.
Buffet and BH is in the RV business for only one thing...To make money for themselves and their stockholders (of which I am one). They (Buffet and BH don't give a hoot about quality, customer satisfaction or anything else, in fact, they are only a capitalization entity and only concerned with the P&L statement, nothing more.
FR changed the way they handle warranty claims through franchised dealers. The exact changes I know little about but I do know that many dealers aren't happy about them, including the dealer I bought my unit from.
Far as Buffet in Texas, I'd have thought that Buffet would have researched the State laws concerning vehicle manufacturers being dealers before buying some 30 dealerships.
We have the same laws regarding manufacturers selling at retail (automobiles or any motorized conveyance) here in Michigan. Why you won't find Elon Musk selling Tesla's here. Musk only sells his cars via company owned and operated dealerships, not legal in this state either.
I also read a senator in Texas penned what was referred to as the Buffet Law in Texas that would have given Buffet an exception to the law but it was struck down.
