- nhshepExplorerCampgrounds in my view are one of the safest places to sleep. In reading about Quartzsite (never been) it sounds like fun in the sun. But 1 in 34 victim of a crime is high in my book. I know statistics are just numbers unless one of those numbers is (me)right.
The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Quartzsite is 1 in 34. Based on FBI crime data, Quartzsite is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to Arizona, Quartzsite has a crime rate that is higher than 73% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

how secure is staying at quartzite?
I guarantee most people that stay in the Desert are armed. So yea it’s secure. - hotjag1Explorer IIJust did a rzr ride around the small mountains outside of Parker and ended up in Quartzsite. It's still pretty quiet there but the pizza at Silly Al's is as good as always.
Been going to the Q for the rv show for 15 years. Never had any issues with theft or security as far as anyone bothering us. There are some down on their luck people roaming around but we don't leave anything out for temptation. - philhExplorer IIhow secure is staying at quartzite?

What I love about Q is no reservations, no crowding, never a problem getting a spot. One year tho I do remember Plomosa being very busy during the big show.
The two times I was camped out there ,it was during the big show . The place was pretty crowded. - 2oldmanExplorer II

On opposite side of the street is Silly Al's Pizza, great food also. The Grubstake is a good bar also.

We stayed at the Yacht Club once on our way to Prescott.
Makes the Bates Motel look like a four star resort!! :(

BTW: we go to Quartzsite almost every year and stay out on Plomosa Rd.
we meet several friends and have a great time.:)
That's where we stayed the two years we've been there going to the Montana Rally, yes we met some good friends out there on Plomosa Rd. We actually have stayed with them on their property in Yuma a few times .
Unfortunately they are Canadians, and not able to spend last winter in Arizona . Not sure if they are coming down this winter or not. - 2oldmanExplorer II

No, until he's gets asked to leave. The noise must be horrendous. Freeway on one side, trucks on the other.
The daily rate at the Pilot lot can't be too bad? - MFLNomad II

Guy in the picture is staying at the Pilot parking lot. Must be wonderful.
Looking at rig, my thought is, he is a full timer! Sure beats living on the street in a card board enclosure!
Some on here say "it's not cheap living in an RV"! That depends, this fellow is not spending a lot on maintenance. The daily rate at the Pilot lot can't be too bad?
