The installation kit T does have a ball-check in it. The unit should be installed closer to the vehicle tank and not up near the filler. The ball-check relies of the fuel in the main fill to close the check. If the kit is installed up near the filler, the filler hose can be filled up with fuel before the check actuates, Thus over-flow can happen with the cap off. Also the main tank vent can pressurize and leak because the fuel level is well above the top of the main tank.
