That hitch model will not work in a pickup bed, flat bed use only that has the recessed gooseneck ball. You'll need to use #3220 which connects to the gooseneck ball.

I'm using a temporary 5th wheel hitch, which from a strictly height perspective, works really well. It measures ~14.75" from the bed of the truck to the top of the hitch assembly (where the trailer's king pin assembly rests). This measurement includes the Ram picture frame adapter height of ~1.75". The entire 5th wheel hitch itself is ~13" high.
Andersen list the height of the Ultimate hitches as "measured from bed of truck to top of ball mount".
I'm assuming this height measurement is from the bed of the truck to the top of the Ultimate hitch assembly itself without the ball inserted?
If this is the case, I'm assuming I need to add the thickness of the Ultimate Connection King Pin Coupler assembly to the advertised height to arrive at the equivalent height as my current 5th wheel hitch?
Which brings up the last question: how thick is the Ultimate Connection King Pin Coupler assembly?
Thanks!
