Our 5th wheel rides about 2 inches high in the front. We checked into lowering our 2017 F350 DRW truck, but we can't do that. So, now we are considering raising our 2014 Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel trailer. Have any of you done such a thing to your 5er? What are the pros and cons, dangers, pitfalls etc.

I was 2" nose high and I was able to raise my king pin up a bit since it had another set of holes to utilize. It lowered my nose an inch so I'm still 1" nose high but over a 38 foot length it's not going to cause me to lose sleep.

Can you adjust the hitch or kingpin and still maintain bed rail clearance? Our solitude is already 13'-5"ish in height stock. 13'-6" is max height in many states. Probably not an issue but something to keep in mind.Our 2017 Ram has our Solitude pretty flat but it has the factory air that allows some downward bed adjustment to where the truck is level. We have 6 inch of bed rail clearance which so far has been enough.

Best way to actually know how much raise is needed is to pull the trailer wheels up onto boards until the trailer is level, then measure the boards and rail clearance on the truck. We have 7" rail clearance and there have been times when we were glad that we had it. We added MORRyde SRE4000 rubberized equalizers to our trailer--they raise it about 1 1/4" at the wheels. We also replaced the OEM Chinese tires (235/80R16) with Goodyear Endurance trailer tires in the 235/85R16 size which raises a theoretical .45" at the wheels for almost 2" total. LT tires also come in that size. The SRE4000 is amazing in how it smooths the trailer ride and is just as easy as replacing a solid equalizer. MORRyde recommends on of their X-Factor braces on the center pair of spring hangers when using the SRE4000.

2" nose high on a 39' 5th wheel should not be an issueYes it is good to tow level but at 2" nose high are you experiencing any towing issues?Chucking, abnormal rear trailer tire wear etc????
