Speaking for myself I tow 6 to 8 times a year. I daily drive it the other 355 some odd days. The short bed is easier to pars, easier to get out of tight spaces and uses less driveway room. My Superglide makes towing with it a non issue. My question would be why would anyone buy a long bed? Apples and oranges my friend. What works best for you does not mean its the best choice for everyone.
If you want to use a truck as a truck a standard longed truck is the way to go.
