I inherited my dad's home when he passed away. We had been taking care of him for almost 10 years before he passed. Until he became too old to drive, he always had an RV parked in the driveway even though there is a HOA and they have "rules" that say you can't park an RV in the driveway. When we bought our first trailer while staying with him we got a letter from the HOA saying we had to remove it asap. My dad never received a letter when he had RVs so I did a little research. In our neighborhood the HOA is voluntary to join and really can't do anything involving legal action except if a neighbor were to sue me. In that case they would help pay for the neighbor's lawyer. My neighbors also have RVs parked in their yards/driveways so I don't think I'll ever have a problem. When driving around the neighborhood, I would say about 25 to 30% of the homes have RVs in the driveways. Check with a lawyer to see if your HOA has any "bite".
