I get by doing a little maintenance at the house, but I keep it limited to the day. If I have serious work to do, I reserve a full hookup spot at the State Park down the road and go to it. I actually enjoy working on a concrete and paved space rather than in our street with the slides out. I end up far more productive.
I also try to keep maintenance separate from vacation, as my family's time off is just as valuable as mine and I don't want them to have to watch me install new goodies. Doesn't always work out, but I try.
