Here you have to ask yourself:
What do I really have control over?
What can I do that is within my control to affect change? (Remember you cannot make others do or say anything) The only person you can change or control is yourself.
Act according to what your answers are.
I had issues with the 'self appointed mayors' when I lived in Port Orange, FL. I was following the letter of the code which was up to 72 hours in any 30 continuous day period. I kept a log of how many hours the camper was at my house on a calendar so adding up a rolling 30 day window was easy.
When code enforcement came to me and said they interpreted it as each time it was brought home it could stay for up to 3 days and then it couldn't be brought back again for 30 days.
My response to the code enforcement officer was that is flawed thinking because when I come back from my usual weekend trips to unload I was in violation.
And they are not enforcing the code as it was actually written. The enforcement officer agreed with me and said so. They just found another gripe by having the front bumper 6" over the edge of the sidewalk. I ended up putting a parking pad behind the house for storing my RV. That's another story though.
