I installed custom rails that I purchased through etrailer on my 2016 F150. There are inboard and outboard versions. Inboard or outboard of the frame. The outboards should be easier to install, access isn't restricted to the bolts. I choose the inboard version in case I decided to add airbags at a later date. The inboards aren't technically difficult to install, however several of the bolts on each frame rail are difficult to reach. They are located above the frame rail. You cannot use a socket set and must use wrenches. Speed wrenches would expediate the process, if you have them in the proper size. You will also need an open end wrench to attach to your torque wrench. Otherwise its a straight forward install.
