Using the numbers you provided 4020 lbs. of cargo leaves 620 lbs. for people and gear in the truck. Figuring you two are not stick people subtract 300 lbs. and you are left with 320 lbs. for anything else you want to carry in the truck.
Oops, forgot to include the weight of the hitch, 200 lbs. so you are now down to 120 lbs. Not much of a safety factor in my opinion.
